Garden Systems & Structures

Beds, fencing, and other homestead infrastructure

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a raised bed or no-dig approach better for a beginner?

Both work well and can be combined — a raised bed gives you contained, improved soil from day one, while a no-dig approach builds fertility gradually over a season or two without any digging at all.

Do I need to be an experienced builder to construct garden infrastructure?

Most of what's covered here (raised beds, basic fencing, a simple coop) is achievable with basic tools and a bit of patience — genuinely complex structural work is the exception rather than the rule.
